Lithium vs Alkaline AA Battery Test
We have used bulk Alkaline batteries for many years now. They are fairly inexpensive and seem to work well in my digital cameras which are the largest user of AA batteries used by us daily. We take photographs for a living so we use our digital cameras every day and go through about a battery a day each month. Alkaline AA batteries cost us about $10 for 24 (More or less depending on Sales, where we buy, etc) this is about 42 cents each or about $15 a month.

Auction at a Tucson School
A few times each year a local school in Tucson, Arizona auctions off their used equipment. There is typically a few hundred square feet of equipment, computers, tools, surplus supplies and even vehicles. These had been live auctions in the past, but are now silent auctions. Bidders offer their best price for each item they are interested in and the high bid is the winner.

SureFire Pen II
We had a chance to test this new version of the Surefire Pen. The SureFire Pen II is a great pen. It is solid, well made and writes every time. The button to extend the writing tip clicks into place silently. The all aluminum body is strong enough to use as a defensive tool if necessary

Samsung r500 Review
This is a Samsung r500 cell phone on the Cricket service. It goes out of signal in large buildings and the owners home.. when it does work it works well and combined with crickets unlimited plans it offers a lot of useful features (when it works) the phone is solid and seems to be well built. The red panels can be replaced with another color, but the owner prefers the standard red

We took a look at this stainless steel pen that costs under $6. It has a fine point (0.7 mm) with a textured steel grip. The Zebra F-701 has a quiet plunger for a silent click. The F701 has a sturdy metal pocket clip. The F701 is refillable with a Zebra F-refill. The refills are available in both Black and Blue in either Fine 0.7mm or Medium 1.0mm. USB Stick for Emergency Information
I wanted a USB memory drive for emergency information and photos but when I looked around I could only find one made specifically for this use and it was nothing special for its high price tag. I decided to make my own and when I saw this red unit with the cap and body designed with a substantial loop for a lanyard (550 cord loop) I figured I could use this one. A bonus is this USB drive ended up costing less than $6 (because we ordered a few things at the same time to cut down on the shipping cost). It was designed for kids so I did need to modify it a bit to remove the logo aimed at kids, this left me with a solid red, sturdy USB drive with a cap for the plug that ca not be lost because it attaches to the loop of cord I added to make it easier to stow the drive in a bag or in the car

We compare a few EDC pens
If you carry a pen, do you also carry a pencil? Do you carry a marker? Over the years I have carried cheap pens, no pens and a few expencive pens. If using a pen is something you need to do often each day, a high quality pen is a great tool to carry around. We have recently been carrying multiple pens and markers for various uses. Here are some of them; Yellow Highlighter Marker, Sharpie Fine Point, Silver Fine Tip, Sharpie Ultra Fine Tip, Bic (giveaway), Zebra F-701, Surefire Pen II, and Glock Pen (giveaway)
